Bo Daniels:My life growing up was basically good I was raised in a strict home environment when I was a kid .I'd go to school everyday come home.I was a newspaper boy for the longest time.I graduated high school in May of 1990 .I loved to always go out and ride my huffy bike and loved to play my music and play with in the dirt lol

Country Music Explosion:When did you start writing about music—and what or who were your early passions and influences?

Bo Daniels:I starting writing music over 10 years ago my passion s is I have a never quit and always keep a good postive attitude. I love Merle Haggard Willie Nelson David Allan Coe Waylon Jennings all these greats is the reason I wanna keep outlaw music going they are my I fluences

Country Music Explosion:What are your main impulses to write about music?

Bo Daniels:What I write I love to write about all my favorite legends and also some of my other music is based on my life experiences

Country Music Explosion:What do you personally consider to be the incisive moments and pieces in your journalistic work and/or career?

Bo Daniels:My favorite moments is when I wrote the outlaw song it's just fueled me to write about such great legends and keep real country alive just for them

Country Music Explosion:How would you describe and rate the music scene of the city/state you are currently living in and how important is it in terms of what you're actually writing about?

Bo Daniels:There a lot of music competition here and a lot of great artists some are great musicians and my friends

Country Music Explosion:When it comes to music journalism, what are your criteria for quality? What are currently your main challenges and ambitions as a writer?

Bo Daniels:I make sure and wanna make sure my music stands out there and keep real country alive still

Country Music Explosion:What do you usually start with when working on a new piece?

Bo Daniels:I try to make sure my first 2 lines are always good its important to me and make sure it's catchy that's what they say in music David Ball once told me on advice on writing always think of a title then you write a song

Country Music Explosion:Tell us a bit about the selection process for deciding on what to write about, please. What sources will you draw from for research purposes and how much time goes into research, information gathering and fact-checking in general?

Bo Daniels:When I start to write my selection would how my life was in general like better man when I wrote that it was based on my life before I knew god I was suffering from a drug addiction etc

Country Music Explosion:How do you see the role of music journalism in the creative process? Should it amplify public taste, distinguish the good from the bad, inform, promote artists, or, as Howard Mandel put it, “illuminate, educate and entertain” readers? Do you feel that, as part of your work, music needs to be explained or should it retain its “inexplicable nature”?

Bo Daniels:Yes I do when I write it's how I feel and how my life was relationship wise to suffering my drug addiction in the past

Country Music Explosion:Whom do you feel your obligation is to—the artists, the readers, the publication you're writing for? In how much do you feel is music journalism restricted by external factors?

Bo Daniels:My obligation is to myself and fans make sure other people feel and understand my music

Country Music Explosion:Journalism and writing have changed considerably over the past century. What, do you feel, could – or should - be new forms and formats for music journalism?

Bo Daniels:I always keep my style of music outlaw country I feel I'm more obligated to write real country and keep fans happy I love real country music and there's still a place for it.

Bo Daniels:I do think music today is real country it's like there making pop rap country to me it's not country music I disapprove I don't like what I here today

Bo Daniels:I admire all great Country legends I love Ronnie Dunn and his awesome style of writing and vocals

Bo Daniels:I really don't have fondest memories just I like to play and jam with friends I remember when I brought 2 guys over my friends we had such a awesome jam time

Bo Daniels:When I picked up my first tapes and record it was actually Johnny Cash man I was liking it and wanted to play with it I love that old Johnny record I picked up I remember well

Bo Daniels:My favorite groups are the Highway men and there cd the oak ridge boys American made and elvira cd and Red Sovine s Teddy Bear

Bo Daniels:I entered the true value country showdown Colgate country showdown and also won the Country idol contest years ago and got to open for Josh turner I have entered a lot of major contest I remember Pat McCann Lilas McCanns dad said I did a awesome job

Bo Daniels:I did a lot of public playing I just recently opened for Jason Boland and the stragglers how it was fun

Bo Daniels:I am a solo act a lot I play acoustic guitar but have played with the best musicians in bands most of the time it's more solo act just me and guitar and my songs
