Juliana Hale:My mom and step-dad have been super supportive of my career. From the moment I picked up my first guitar my mom knew I was hooked and she has only been positive about it since then. She is very honest when I ask for her opinion and she pushes me to be the best I can.My mom and step dad packed up our whole family seven years ago and moved us from Southern California to Nashville so I could learn from the best in the business and pursue my passion. You can’t get much more supportive than that!I have a lot of amazing people in my life that have supported me throughout the journey.I am very grateful for everyone that has come along side me and shared their gifts with me and encouraged me.

___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be?

Juliana Hale:Too much G-Eazy and a little One Direction.
___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:When it comes to your music,Do you have one that You're most proud of?If so what is the name of it?

Juliana Hale:I think that I am most proud of "Sunshine" simply because I always struggled to write upbeat, happy songs. When I finally finished "Sunshine",I felt like I grew as a writer. It was also one of my most melodically lifted choruses, which was also a struggle for me as I am quite comfortable singer lower.
___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:Can you tell us if there is a story behind the song?

Juliana Hale:"Sunshine"came out of an actually pretty dark period in my life.I was sick with digestive disorders, had just had an organ removed, was struggling with high school friendships, and my dad and I were not talking at the time.I wrote that song to prove to myself that I could rise above that all.
___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:Which of your song's do you feel most people can relate to?Can you tell us the story behind

Juliana Hale:The song I think people can relate to "Home" the most because everyone has felt out of place or alone.I feel like most people have some place or person they consider home that they seek when they feel dejected.I wrote this song on a train in Paris while thinking about someone who made me feel not at home.I was talking about a figurative distance but used the travelling idea as an inspiration.

Juliana Hale:Teens and young adults.
___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?

Juliana Hale:Pop/Americana.I listen to a wide variety of music so it’s hard to pinpoint exact influences, but I think I definitely admire the writing styles of Florence + the Machine and Ed Sheeran. As for the more band-oriented songs,I definitely look to the more alternative styles of The Maine and Mayday Parade.
___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:What image do you think your music conveys?

Juliana Hale:I think the image my music conveys is definitely a clean, motivational picture.Even when I write break up songs,it’s still something like “I Won’t Cry” as a way to enforce the theme of self-confidence and love. It’s about the themes of life. And,as my EP is called TIME,the songs were definitely centered around timing being everything in my mind.
___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:How old were you when you knew you wanted to be a singer? At the time did you know what Genre you wanted to sing ?

Juliana Hale:I began writing songs and singing in about 4th grade.I really wanted to do country at that age because I was in love with Shania Twain, Danielle Peck, and Kenny Chesney.
___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:Music-sharing sites and blogs as well as a flood of releases in general are presenting both listeners and artists with challenging questions. What's your view on the value of music today?

Juliana Hale:I think the market is definitely oversaturated and that the industry has become more about image and numbers than music in a lot of cases. However,it is great that artists can make it pretty far independently.

___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood or town?

Juliana Hale:One of my favorite musical memories is when I was busking on the streets in Nashville with my very talented brother. While we were playing"Take Me To Church"by Hozier, these two guys we’d never met before came up with percussion instruments and began to play with us. I think this really speaks to the community that music creates.

___________________________________________________
Country Music Explosion:How do you balance your music with other obligations - friends, family, job?

Juliana Hale:I just released an 8 song EP called TIME.I started recording it in November and finished it around January. However,I worked on writing about 100 songs to pick from for about 2 years. My favorite song to play live is Sunshine, but I think my favorite song is either Remember or Orange Sky because of how much I learned from writing them.
